About

I taught myself to throw pots when I was 16 at Mansfield college of Art and Design, Nottinghamshire England.  I then went on to study for a Fine Art degree graduating in 1986 at Liverpool Polytechnic.  A large part of my degree was ceramics, hand built and slip cast objects.

I have always loved ceramics but for many years have moved around the Country and so have rarely been able to access a kiln or studio.  Out of frustration I started to learn about the history of ceramics and realized I had over looked China, where so much development began.

After studying Chinese ceramics for a few years, this led me to look at British ceramics.

I naturally fell into some dealing and one thing has led to another, so I have created this site to support this direction of development.

"Fabulous Ceramics" is really for anyone who loves ceramics and pots, not aimed at the collector so much as the enthusiast, I aim to keep the collection wide and varied and to include many styles and traditions.

Well I hope you enjoy the site, and over time it will develop, so please keep popping in, share anything you like with others.

Don't forget you can also sign up for my monthly POT BLOG (link on the main menu at the top of the page) or follow my INSTAGRAM page or put your name down for the NEWSLETTER for updates of new stock and news etc.

There are always surprises and interesting new finds to share.
