Coalport Imari Platter 1805-10
£185.00 inc. tax
A richly decorated meat platter made by Coalport dated between 1805-10.
Rich vibrant red, a deep blue and bright gilding. The gilding on the front of this platter is not worn at all and is in excellent condition.
Impressed with the number "3" we can verify that this is Coaplort because this was their code number for platters which were ten inches by thirteen and a half inches, which this one measures.
Also there is an identical example illustrated in Geofrey Goddens book, "COALPORT AND COALBROOKDALE PORCELAINS" plate 20. Described as "Japan pattern" Coalport dinner service in the Derby style.
