Derby Heart Shaped Dish 18th Century
£110.00 inc. tax
A rare pattern to find on a kidney or heart shaped dessert dish. In nice condition for a dish of this period. No pattern number and not a pattern which has been recorded.
A simple pattern built up of geometrical flower shapes in onglaze blue and pink, forming a chain around the edge of the dish.
After 1782 most wares did have pattern numbers, and for a period these were floating numbers. Later into the 1780's this number settled to just below the Derby mark.
As this dish does not have a pattern number, its possibly earlier and could even be a Chelsea Derby dish, predating 1782.
Finished with a dentil gilded rim.
A nice size dish and in good condition.

Puce mark, Derby crown battons dots and D mark. No pattern number
