Early Worcester Coffee Can With Prunus Root Decoration 1751-59
A delightful early piece of Dr Wall's Worcester decorated in a strong underglaze cobalt blue in the 'Prunus Root' pattern.
On this example the pattern has been nicely spaced around the cup with good use of the negative space and feels as though the design is hugging the form.
One bug on the outside and one bug on the inside near the lip.
The bottom has been tooled and has one of the less common workmans marks.
The handle is fine and in good proportion to the cup.
Excellent antique condition, there is a small flat chip to the inside of the rim, which has been filled and overpainted with a good colour match.
