Engine turned mug made in Austria late 19th century. Made by P. A. W. company which stands for Paul A, Wranitzky who founded the pottery in Austria in 1874.
This example is probably of the late 19th century. Coffee cans jugs and other small functional objects were made in a variety of colours, blue green brown, all with the cream chequered patterning produced by turning on a lathe.
A delightful and earthy little coffee can.
