Red & Gold ROC saucer c.1920-30

A highly decorative Chinese porcelain saucer in a fine translucent paste, the glaze slightly blueish in the reverse and marked in grey with a stamped mark "MADE IN CHINA".

I believe this to be from the Republic of China period "ROC" which was between the end of the Qing Dynasty 1912 and the formation of the Peoples Republic of China in 1949.  The mark its self indicates after 1919 but the quality of the porcelain and decoration would seem to indicate a date of before 1948 and I would place it to the 1920-30 period.  

Decorated firstly with iron red, and then embellished upon with gilding, the pattern is comprised of butterflies, flowers and leaves, and exotic fruits and leaves, and one little bird hidden amongst it all, can you spot him ?

Very well done, with tight but even spacing between each item, and detailed gilding.

Some wear to the gilt along the top edge and some nibbles to the footrim.  A couple of short tight hairlines from the rim about 1cm showing on the back but don't appear to come though on the front and may be just in the glaze.  Otherwise in good condition and charming.

Makers marks:
A stamped MADE IN CHINA mark in grey.

Good: Wear to the gilding along the rim, a few nibbles to the foot rim.  Two one cm hairlines in the glaze at the back.
