SOLD Miniature Toby Jug Early 19th Century
£45.00 inc. tax
A delicately painted little miniature Toby Jug made of earthenware. In one hand he holds a fluted glass and in the other a bottle.
Wearing a red spotted waistcoat and yellow tights he is a well dressed gent. His face is nicely painted and he wears a tricorn hat and maroon coat. Rather than sitting he is standing.
The famous writter Roald Dahl always wrote with pencils which he kept on his desk on one of these little fellows. The last picture shows Dahls' little fellow.
