Worcester Coffee Cup and Saucer Printed with "Milkmaids" Pattern 1765
Here we have a fabulous Worcester coffee can and saucer in the popular "MILKMAIDS" pattern dated around 1765-70.
The original version of this print has a black line around the rim while on later versions the rim was gilded.
Printed in sepia after Robert Sayer, engraved by Robert Hancock, on the saucer we see a farmyard scene, with a milkmaid carrying a pail on her head and another being relieved of her pail by a young man, before a hay barn.
The cup with similar print to exterior and the verso with a milkmaid infront of a barn with a calf and cow.
